I have decided to play with acrylics and abstraction....I was happy with my palette. Back to working with more neutral colors...the colors of Morandi. On this I decided to then add the punch of red.

The color is not quite right on this....I had been struggling with a painting underneath and decided to continue with my colors of Italy....Go Figure!!! The underneath painting was an old figure I was reworking.

This is a piece I submitted for a show at The Encaustic Art Institute in Cerillos, New Mexico. The show is very special to me as it is a memorial to 9.11. I was a United Airlines flight attendant at that time, life changed for everyone. This piece takes me back to Boston City Square Plaza where the United and American employees had a memorial service to honor the victims. During which Bette Midler sang the "The Wind Beneath My Wings"....white doves were let go to remember the employees. Which is how this piece came about, peace to the victims and their families.
