I have decided to draw and paint objects surrounding me for the next few weeks since I am stuck at home recuperating! Starting with a redo...a painting I have been experimenting with making an acrylic skin. Next when I can I will soak it and remove it from the panel, from there we will see what progresses.
After the snow storm last week I had lunch with an artist friend and she gave me some advice.....when drawing-draw something you love to look at because you will be spending alot of time looking! That being said I went out and bought some fresh flowers and began to draw.....the painting is not quite finished just a few adjustments to the background.
This blog is to document my work during the MFA Program at Lesley University College of Art and Design.

February Update
Updating last month's work- my husband made me 5 wood panels, 3 @ 39" x 29" and 2 slightly smaller. I spent some time sanding, prepping panels with gac 100 and gesso. It has been challenging because I am painting representationally with acrylics on panel. Typically,
I paint with oils but have decided to use acrylics because they dry quickly, so I am experimenting with the paint, the application and mediums. I am hoping with the next panels to have a better handle on the acrylics and work more abstractly.
